The Business Development Leader is responsible for developing and leading strategic relationships and business directly with key luxury residential, commercial, and hospitality developers. Candidates with a strong existing network and 5+ years of experience in a direct to developer sales role and a deep understanding of the large project lifecycle and ecosystem in one or more of the following industries; residential, commercial, and hospitality will be viewed most favorably.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute a targeted regional sales growth plan and solution sales strategy that leverages high value relationships, RH core capabilities, and industry insights to achieve quarterly/annual sales and margin goals
  • Prospecting to discover and qualify luxury high value direct customer and project leads; residential regional and national builders and developers, real estate investment trusts, independent, boutique and resort hotel owners, wineries, distilleries and breweries
  • Close new business deals by coordinating customer and project requirements; developing and negotiating proposals; and integrating customer requirements with the business operations
  • Fully own the full project life-cycle for all projects tied to direct strategic developers/customers, from exploration to specification to delivery, guiding customers to solutions that we can best supply to meet their specific project needs
  • Accountable for partnering with project, sourcing, and logistics leaders to ensure projects are properly led and executed, including product selection, creation of quotes and invoices and order fulfillment planning
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis and log all key communications and activities in the CRM system
  • Build and hold high level strategic direct developer and owner leadership relationships
  • Collaborate with North American and International Business Development and Project Leaders across all segments to help "connect the dots" within our customer and project ecosystems and drive growth with strategic customers

OUR REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing or related field or a design degree with experience working in contract design
  • 5+ years of outside B2B sales experience, preferably direct to developers and owners, in one or more of the following industries; residential, commercial and hospitality
  • Proven direct owner/developer relationships with key principals/senior level leadership and decision makers involved in the specification, approval and purchasing process of FF&E and in unit/room type products
  • Strong understanding of the customer ecosystem and project lifecycle from design to delivery
  • Highly motivated self-starter that performs consistently in a fast-paced environment and adept at identifying and overcoming obstacles as well as quickly identifying opportunities and driving solutions
  • Expert sales and negotiating skills, confident and effective in conducting both in person and virtual presentations in small to medium sized groups
  • Must be a proven high performing sales leader that drives results through strong collaboration, leadership and critical thinking
  • Highly skilled in sales growth planning and in providing accurate sales forecasts for project based business
  • Proficient in multiple systems and spreadsheets, i.e.: CRM/SalesForce, Excel, PPT
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time for strategic customer and project needs
