Application Development Advisor - Pega at Cigna in Plano, Texas

Job Description:

You will design and develop functional and framework components of the distributed and high throughput Pega platform and other applications in the IT Value Based Services portfolio. You will work in an IT team under the guidance of the application architect, senior developers and management on delivering projects successfully to production on schedule. You will deliver agile and fast-paced enhancements. You will ensure a systems development methodology is followed and key components such as design, testing, code reviews and technical documentation are completed for each project and make recommendations on any process improvements.

Participate on projects by developing the technical design, leading the programming effort, assisting with testing, developing design documentation, conduct technical training, managing technical implementation tasks, and code as necessary. • At least 5+ years of experience in 1 or more programming languages


• Expertise in Enterprise Application Security, Load Balancing


• Ability to work in SCRUM based Agile teams and practice Agile methodologies and ceremoniesPreference will be given to those individuals who possess 2+ years of hands on experience on PRPC 7.x, SCE, HCIF, BIX and/or other Pega solutions and Pega CSSA, CSA, UI certification holders.


• Technical Skills 5+ years of experience in -Web/Integration Technologies: HTML, JavaScript, JSP, CSS, XML, JSON, MQ, JMS, SOAP, REST, WSDLLanguages Java/C#/Python/Scala, Unix Shell Scripting, SQLDatabases: Oracle/IBM DB2App Server: JBoss/WebsphereTools: Log4j, Jenkins, Nexus, uDeploy, SOAPUIAreas of business domain expertise


• Healthcare/Medical/Pharmaceutical/Claim Processing


• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science or Engineering preferred or equivalent professional experience


• Must be a current contractor with Cigna, Express Scripts, or Evernorth. Evernorth is a new business within the Cigna Corporation.
