RTI's Commercial Health business unit creates innovative solutions to complex healthcare problems for health care payers and providers. We are driven by deep subject-matter expertise, a passion for providing innovative solutions, and sound business strategy coupled with rigorous healthcare data analytics capabilities. Currently, we are seeking a Senior Director, Population Health, Quality and Outcomes to assume responsibility for development, strategic planning, implementation, portfolio management and general management of Population Health, Quality and Health Outcomes programs for RTI's commercial market health plan, health payer and health care provider clients.

In this new and exciting role, you will oversee the planning, development, implementation and administration of the business strategies and programs for Population Health, Quality and Health Outcomes practice areas. Additionally, you will oversee business development activities ensuring that business development decisions align with strategic plans and market opportunities for growth, client response and impact of RTI's mission.

Additional responsibilities will include but not be limited to:


  • Lead the development of the Population Health, Quality and Health Outcomes practice areas ensuring sufficient resources and needed skill sets are present or acquired to meet organizational needs.

  • Drive team goal achievement around sales, revenue, and project management.

  • Lead cross functional teams to execute on statements of work, interpret results, summarize findings, and advise on strategy.

  • Accountable for project completion, strategic consultation and for the use of best methods to address research needs.

  • Accountable for managing other project staff in proposal development, project delivery, client communication, and client management.

  • As a scientific/technical leader, may lead or support complex projects, mentor staff in project leadership.

  • As a scientific/technical leader, may write or review proposals or portions of proposals.

  • Contribute across CHPP in working with the most Senior Leaders on broad strategic and operational topics.

  • Liaise with other industry leaders on trends and issues as they arise that are pertinent to Population Health, Quality and Health Outcomes practice areas.

  • Establish long-range research strategies and practices for this Division to ensure success.

  • Represent the business unit at professional conferences.

  • Stay informed of innovations in science and business in order to leverage RTI's diverse and unique scientific expertise.

  • Ensure the professional credibility for the Population Health, Quality and Health Outcomes practice areas internally and externally with key professional organizations.

  • Oversees the development, maintenance, and adherence to standard operating procedures.

  • Identify opportunities for collaboration with other business units

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree and 20 years of directly related experience, Master's degree and 16 years of experience, or a PhD and 12 years of experience.

  • Well-organized, creative, strategic thinker equally capable of tactical execution and driving results, as well as articulating a vision with unique ideas and perspectives.

  • Excellent leadership ability in a multidisciplinary research organization

  • Excellent to effectively plan, implement and manage a diverse portfolio of research projects.

  • Ability to effect and implement change in the present while developing and building for the future.

  • Ability to identify business and market opportunities, knowledge to establish business relationships that will optimize the portfolio.

  • Strong drive for collaboration across the institute with an understanding that success is built upon teamwork and networking.

  • Excellent writing and communication skill with demonstrated experience presenting to national conference audiences, client presentations and publications preferred.

  • Knowledge of privacy and security regulations governing clinical and health data (e.g., HIPAA)

  • Ability to travel several times throughout the year to domestic and international locations.

  • Ability to obtain proper security clearances as noted by contracts.

Preferred:


  • Preference will be shown to candidates with health plan and/or health systems experience in population health and quality or experience working in a health consulting environment.
