I.JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Specialist Metrology Technical Systems is responsible the execution of metrology functions required to support the facility and process equipment at the Baltimore fill/finish facility. Duties include performing calibrations and scheduling vendor calibrations of instrumentation and equipment, repairing and troubleshooting electronics and instrumentation.

II.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

*Designs, develops, implements, and maintains calibration processes and procedures for new and existing equipment and instrumentation and train key personnel on proper use.

*Coordinates and performs calibration of instrumentation necessary for maintaining production equipment, laboratory equipment and other auxiliary measurement systems.

*Maintains detailed calibration record.

*Coordinates outside calibration activities with vendors.

*Assists in qualification of equipment / facilities as needed.

*Researches new technologies and procedures to enhance production and performs engineering design evaluations.

*Applies engineering principles to generate solutions to problems.

*Assists in programming, maintenance and troubleshooting of programmable logic controllers and process/environmental monitoring systems.

*Established procedures with some supervision.

*Possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of a particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments.

III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

*Bachelor's degree in engineering / related discipline with 1-2 years' experience or High School diploma with 4-6 years' experience

*Experience in industrial/pharmaceutical metrology setting preferred

*Basic knowledge of electronics and instrumentation systems required

*Detailed knowledge of calibration procedures and basic knowledge of programmable logic controllers is preferred

*Must possess the ability to schedule a large quantity of varied tasks and track them to completion.
