Overview

LMI is looking to hire a Health Policy Consultant at LMI Headquarters in Tysons, VA. The successful Health Policy Consultant will design and perform programmatic procedures, including identifying and defining issues, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting processes.Federal government departments and agencies sponsor work for this position including the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) within HHS. Travel will vary, dependent on contract requirements.

Responsibilities

    Leverage ACO specific healthcare subject matter expertise to help LMI continue to mature the support it provides to CMS for ACOs
  • Implement process improvement through the analysis of policy, healthcare data, and their associated systems

  • Lead a team of business analysts, organize requirements, delegate work, and mentor early career professionals

  • Develop ACO specific briefings/deliverables based on client requests

  • Update client documents including public instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), webinar materials, drafting answers to policy help desk questions

  • Analyze healthcare data using spreadsheets or other analytical tools

  • Research guidance and regulations related to Accountable Care Organizations

  • Present current healthcare trends and analysis in easy-to-understand presentations/communications

Qualifications


  • 5+ years of experience, preferably working on ACO-related

  • Experience working at or with an Accountable Care Organization

  • Experience working with CMS

  • Experience supporting value-based healthcare models

  • An understanding of the ACA and the specific mandates within the policy including the Medicare Shared Savings Program

  • Previous experience leading a small team and managing requirements

  • Ability to absorb large amounts of new technical and policy knowledge without a lot of guidance

  • Ability to advocate for technical platforms to augment analytical processes and deliverables, including input into IT business requirements

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Superior communication skills, both written and oral
