Job Description

Position Purpose

Schedules production for manufacturing facilities and manages the investment in and availability of materials to support the plans of the KCP businesses

Customers and Customer Requirements

Customers:        

Logistics, Marketing, Manufacturing Sites, Product Supply, Staff Financial Analysts, Vendors

Expectations:      

Provide technical direction and leadership
Ensure effective implementation of Logistics plans
Provide a Logistics perspective on business issues
Ensure optimal customer service performance
Independent Analysis and Individual Project Completion

Scope

Reports to the Planning Manager, and is responsible for the initiation, management and coordination of production requirements, materials, and inventory plans for KC Professional. This position provides planning input for short term business issues involving capacity, materials, and customer service. This position also provides support via problem solving and project initiation for several planning constraints as they are identified and prioritized.

Education/Experience

The position requires knowledge and ability associated with a Bachelor’s Degree and 2-5 years of supply chain experience. Ability requirements are to effectively organize, plan, control and communicate production along with materials plans to the business team and production locations. There will be an emphasis on independent work completion, problem solving acumen, and advanced analytical skills focused on Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel and SAP.
 

Accountabilities

Coordinate production planning and sourcing plans that support the business plans of the KC Professional Team while minimizing inventories and operating expenses and ensuring optimal customer service performance.

Recommend capacity changes, location, and timing when appropriate and advise production, inventory, and distribution consequences of alternative sales plans. Recommend actions when production, materials, and customer service imbalances exist.

Provide a logistics perspective on business issues that are not necessarily identified in the principal accountabilities.

Review of operating schedules and inventory forecasts, advising key suppliers of demand and subsequent impact on schedules and ordering patterns.

Contribute as a planning team member in various situations, projects and activities not included in other principal accountabilities and to assist in the accomplishment of established objectives.

Maintain effective communications with team leaders and other team members in a manner that is timely, complete, concise, and responsive.

Lead and participate in the development and implementation of cost reduction activities and projects. Provide timely and accurate analysis when required.

Ensure the accuracy of inventory and financial records to provide proper control.
