The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a QA Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Creating QA solutions for industry leading speech recognition software for the medical field


• Improving patient care through reduction of escaped defects, improvement of product velocity by earlier identification of problems.


• Sharpening your technical and functional skills through exposure to complex­­­­ systems.


• Implementing and maintaining any necessary test cases in Test management system


• Automating regression test cases and Performing occasional manual testing of Jira tickets, periodic regression testing of releases and major features, verification of process adherence.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution and a minimum of four (4) years of experience in Software Testing in lieu of the bachelor’s degree education requirement


• One (1) year of QA automation experience using C#

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• QA skills necessary to single-handedly take responsibility for quality assurance oversight of C# agile team development efforts. This entails creating test plans, maintaining any necessary cases in TestRail, occasional manual testing of Jira tickets, periodic regression testing of releases and major features, verification of process adherence, and reducing escaped defect counts. Responsible for having a good understanding of released features and how they interact.


• Strong C# experience to write automation code.


• Very strong technical background and be capable of independent command-line work on Windows and Linux (and to a lesser extent on iOS, macOS, and Android). Team responsibility extends to five platforms, four languages (C++, C#, Java, nodejs, and light scripting), and seven code-bases with five or more application level stakeholders.


• Strong debugging skills and be able to trace problems from log-files.


• Strong written English language skills in order to clearly document and convey software defects, process improvements, or other types of problems when encountered.


• Strong verbal English skills in order to participate in team meetings by communicating status in a clear, concise, and professional manner.


• Ability to actively participate in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, comply with professional and quality standards, comply with corporate policies and procedures, and act in a manner consistent with 3M’s values and ethical standards.

Travel: Occasional travel may be required
