The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an Engineering Training Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leading cross functional teams to analyze, identify, and provide structure and direction to Global 3M Engineering Organization training programs


• Collaborating with Engineering Leadership to develop and monitor training initiatives, key milestones and annual training budgets


• Developing and implementing training programs and processes such as New Employee and Onboarding training, New Engineering Supervisor training, Team training, Agile and Project Management training and Technical training using existing materials and/or through the creation of new modules, materials and e-modules


• Facilitating and/or leading training courses or seminars


• Learning, teaching, and sharing training best practices and providing functional work direction to consultants in the analysis, design, and development and upkeep of training modules, training materials, manuals, and e-modules

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution


• Five (5) years of Training coordination and training design in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Proven professional communication, customer service, and speaker introduction skills and the ability to establish and maintain working relationships


• Precise and accurate communicator (both verbal and written) and engaging presenter who exhibits excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and flexibility


• Experience with learning design principles, Lean Six Sigma processes, and Agile and Project Management principles.


• Technology minded – able to pick up various technology platforms such as our Learning Management System, video editing software, and other internal software applications. 


• Willingness to learn - the software and systems are continually evolving, so we need someone open to learning something new every day.


• Demonstrates the ability to understand and communicate technical information to both technical resources and non-technical users.


• Demonstrated planning, organization, and “attention to detail” skills.  Ability to get work done through others, work independently, and in a team-oriented environment. Possess excellent organizational, time management, and follow-through skills.


• Must be accountable, take ownership of deadlines, and have a strong work ethic with a sense of urgency

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic or international travel

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
