Job Description:

OnTrac is hiring!

The shift will be Monday-Friday from 7am-4pm

The Maintenance Technician will maintain multiple facilities, repair material handling systems, and will ensure a safe working environment for all.

Responsibilities:


  1. Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.

  2. Maintain and provide routine preventive maintenance to conveyor systems.

  3. Change and repair parts of conveyor systems, rebuild and align equipment, gears, shafts, pulleys and belts.

  4. Respond in a timely manner to all material handling systems breakdowns.

  5. Use illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification and maintenance of equipment.

  6. Perform housekeeping duties, including work area clean-up, conveyor and equipment clean-up, and other general housekeeping duties as assigned.

  7. Respond in a timely manner to all material handling breakdowns

  8. Inspect machinery for potential problems daily.

  9. May be required to use personal vehicle or Company vehicle to conduct business for the Company. If driving, minimum auto liability limits must be met.

  10. Perform any other task or assignment as deemed necessary by the organization.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

This position requires:


  • Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions

  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Good problem solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member

  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate 24 hour operations

  • Ability to fabricate and fix mechanical parts

  • Knowledge of industrial conveyor controls and related I/O’s.

  • Knowledge of LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), PM’s (Preventative Maintenance), and 3-Phase electrical work.

  • Must have good driving record and be able to pass an MVR.

Organizational Relationship:

This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. Interacts and works closely with other facility management and personnel.

Work Environment: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in warehouse environment.  The noise level is usually moderate.

Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch.  Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.  Shift hours are during the evening and early morning.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or three years related experience and/or training in mechanical and electrical equipment; or equivalent combination of both education and specific work experience. Welding experience is required.
