We’re looking for a Product Returns Analyst at our world headquarters in Olathe, KS to lead and drive the investigation of Garmin product returns to facilitate product quality improvements.  

In this role, your key essential functions will be:


  • Exercise independent judgment to ensure product returns issues are documented to an appropriate level based on the complexity and potential severity of the issue by working with customer-facing quality engineers  

  • Define and collect the necessary information to drive trend analysis and investigation activities through collaboration with customer repair and manufacturing teams

  • Act as liaison between Quality, Customer Repair, Manufacturing and Engineering as well as other departments at Garmin to address problems associated with products

  • Flag returns of interest and perform test and triage activities at a unit and system level to duplicate and understand product return issues

  • Independently determine a path for issue investigation through quality, engineering and business groups and collaborate to further analyze and resolve issues

  • Interpret, analyze and take actions on responses to issues and determine if further investigation is required or additional information is needed 

  • Develop and deliver return trend reports for the project, program and quality teams that identify and prioritize issues  

  • Identify, analyze and interpret product quality data to assess issue criticality and drive issue investigation and resolution

  • Formulate the appropriate communication for issue resolution status and work with business organizations to determine and take appropriate mitigation action based on the impact to the customer and business

  • Identify and implement process enhancements for managing return issues

  • Lead development and implementation of tools to aid in data management and issue resolution

  • Know and understand organizational needs and quality objectives to support alignment throughout product lifecycles

Qualified candidates will possess the following education, experience and skills: 


  • Associate’s degree in Electronics Technology, Electronics, Engineering or a substantially similar field or equivalent Military training or a minimum of 4 years of experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description

  • Must demonstrate broad proficient knowledge of segment systems

  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and demonstrate the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment

  • Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult and system level problems

  • Excellent time management, follow-up and analytical skills with keen attention to detail 

  • Must possess positive attitude, the ability to operate effectively within a team environment and work across functional and organizational boundaries

  • Must demonstrate highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Must demonstrate flexibility and a commitment to meeting deadlines

  • Demonstrates proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Candidates with the following desirable qualifications are preferred:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology or a related field

  • Previous component level troubleshoot and repair with various Garmin systems

  • Previous Avionics experience in an Aircraft Maintenance Facility and/or an Aircraft Manufacturing environment

  • Previous exposure to data analysis and quality assurance methodology
