Basic Function:  Accountability for monitoring the manufacturing activities in accordance with engineering specifications, time schedules, expense budgets, quality standards, cost goals and employee safety / performance / development. The position is considered a developmental role with the expectation that the selected individual will be a key part of plant supervision and management.

Responsibilities:


  • Learn, develop and perform in a safety oriented and team driven environment

  • Assist with the company’s safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment in part by participating in the safety and Operational Excellence programs in the department

  • Gain understanding of workflow, employee relations and processes through hands-on experience with production equipment and working with management team

  • Coordinate and adjust schedules as needed to reflect changes in production, customer requirements, etc.

  • Analyze and evaluate production schedule to estimate work requirements for completion of jobs.  Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations

  • Contribute to process improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives

  • Assisting with managing a department and the supervision of hourly employees, training and orientation of new employees, and the scheduling of work for employees

  • Ensure all employees follow operation standards and working practices developed by management and verify the conformance to specifications

  • Assist management with the compiling, storing, and retrieving of production data and other record keeping duties

  • Job shadow managers and supervisors in preparation for a leadership role, including performing as a back-up supervisor during training

  • Actively pursue learning objectives and seek additional opportunities for growth and development

Requirements:


  • Developed PC computer skills w/ MS Word, Excel & PPT

  • Experience with Epicor ERP or other ERP/MRP Systems preferred

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability

  • Four (4) year technical degree preferred

  • Participate and support all team activities

  • Ability to develop a thorough understanding & demonstration of all manufacturing and engineering processes and procedures, applicable to areas of responsibility

  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings

  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment

  • Must have ability to multitask

  • Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of this job.
