A Southern California High Desert Medical Center is actively seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join their growing organization.
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist CLS will ensure all practices and procedures in assigned sections meet requirements of licensing agencies. The CLS will assist the Laboratory Director and Manager in ensuring the day-to-day operation of the Laboratory meets the service requirements of the hospital and accrediting agencies: CMS, IDA, CAP, CLIA, DHS. When designated, acts as a general supervisor or medical director designee, as appropriate.
The Generalist Clinical Laboratory Scientist will perform quantitative and qualitative clinical laboratory determinations as requested by physicians including procurement of specimens, computation of test results, and submitting completed reports.
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist CLS is also involved in evaluating new tests, choosing new equipment, and performing quality assurance and quality control. The Microbiology CLS will perform accurate pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing of specimens received in the laboratory. Completes record filing processes while avoiding or minimizing errors.
The Generalist Clinical Laboratory Scientist is assigned to work or float in appropriate areas. Responsibilities are expanded to include participation in activities relating to quality assurance, quality control, proficiency testing, policy and procedure review, in-service training and staff development.
