Job Description:

As the Benefits Specialist you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of all benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA, legal plan, time off with pay, short- and long-term disability, worker’s compensation, and 401(k) plan. You will develop and maintain communication to ensure employees understand the benefits available and assist employees with any issues that may arise.

Successful candidates should have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Responsible for accurate and timely administration of all benefit programs and serve as subject matter expert for assigned benefit programs.

  • Serve as primary point of contact for employee benefit questions, partner with appropriate resources (vendors, Employee Service Business Partners, managers, etc.) to resolve benefit issues, and escalate issues when appropriate.

  • Process all benefit changes in a timely and accurate manner. Monitor benefits through payroll process and make necessary adjustments.

  • Process benefit invoices.

  • Assist with developing and implementing communication strategies to ensure all benefit programs are fully understood and valued by employees.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Exceptional customer service skills with strong follow-through to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office. Knowledge in UltiPro software, a plus.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work individually as well as collaboratively with a team.

  • Ability to set priorities and to adapt to an ever-changing and fast-paced work environment.

  • Strong math and problem-solving skills as well as sound judgment.

  • Ability to understand and interpret complex insurance and legal documents. Ability to apply knowledge or research answers as questions and circumstances arise.
