As our Business Development Manager (BDM), you will be based out of our McKinney, Texas site. In this role you will be the resident expert for the Process Industry including Upstream Oil & Gas, refining, petrochemical, and power. You will support the North American Sales team as a technical specialist and the Industrial Business Unit that includes Process, Steam, and Oil & Gas. In this role you will be creating a vision & strategy to grow the Pressure Management business in this market, driving increased sales & profitability while exploiting new opportunities as they arise.  You will help to elevate our Sales, Marketing & Engineering teams to be trusted advisors in the industry.


As a Business Development Manager, you will


  • Lead market intelligence activities: market segment & trends; technological advancements; key and strategic account information; competitive intelligence, strategies and product positioning
  • Support creation of Process Industry strategies related to our solutions roadmap, new technologies and product development
  • Derive value propositions by understanding the market from the customer perspective
  • Create solutions and solution messaging to customer needs and pains
  • Generate and implement specific, targeted and measurable growth plans 
  • Build relationships at key customers, identifying customer pain and key decision makers
  • Help our sales team establish ‘trusted advisor’ relationships
  • Create sales tools and provide training to customers and sales teams
  • Generate and maintain processes to share successes across all world areas; coordinating campaigns and programs to leverage ‘wins’.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (ME, EE, or ChE or equivalent field) required.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Solid interpersonal skills; ability to get things done while working with cross-functional teams and at different levels of the organization.
  • Self-driven / self-starter, and able to take new ideas from conception to implementation.

  • Ability to travel throughout North America 50% of the time (post-COVID restrictions).
     

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • Advanced degree in Marketing or Business preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in the Process industry preferred.
  • Experience with developing strategy, business development, and market analysis preferred.
  • Emerson experience preferred.
