Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Traffic Clerk is to load, plan and schedule carriers. The Traffic Clerk schedules carriers to pick up sales order and deliver to customer within customer requested timeline. Duties will also include researching shipping delays, carrier issues, customer service inquires. The Traffic Clerk will also be coordinating shipping sales orders with production scheduling department, communicate with production scheduling regarding shipments, schedule customer pick up of sales orders and schedule transportation for inbound and outbound materials.

All employees must follow all Graphic Packaging International work rules, code of conduct and safety procedures and policies including wearing personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, hearing protection and safety goggles.

Requirements

• 1-year dispatch experience including load planning, routing, and customer service.


• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations


• Transportation or Scheduling experience preferred.


• Independent self starter


• Must be able to lift/lower up to 5 lbs. to and from short distances


• Slight forward bending may be performed on a repetitive and/or prolonged basis.


• Kneeling and Crouching may be performed while filing


• Communication Skills - verbal and written


• Problem Solving & Analytical Skills


• Must be able to work scheduled/unscheduled overtime as required
