Overview:

The Med/Surg Clinical Coordinator is responsible for professional nursing care for patients and their families by direction, supervision and example. Supervises and directs Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Patient Care Techs, Unit Secretaries, Student Nursing Interns, and other assigned staff. Responsible for operation of the Med/Surg Unit on a shift by shift basis ensuring that all regulatory requirements and standards are being fulfilled. Participates in the education and development of Med/Surg personnel and performance evaluation as well as other administrative duties as designated by the Director of the unit. Must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, be dedicated to the provision of quality patient care and use sound judgment in decision making.

Qualifications:

• 
  Experience: Strongly prefer 2 years of Med Surg experience


• 
  Required Education: Graduate from an accredited RN program


• 
  Preferred Education: BSN


• 
  License: current RN license in our state


• 
  Certifications: Basic Life Support and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
