Software Engineer - JAVA at NetSmart Technologies in Overland Park, Kansas

Job Description:

As part of our Product Engineering team, you will work closely with product, sales, marketing and customer service teams to design, build and operate our Enterprise SAAS healthcare platform in the cloud.

Responsibilities:

• You will work with and lead onsite and offshore delivery and operations teams




• You will be a full stack hands on engineer who delivers highly available, scalable, secure and resilient software using cutting edge technologies in the cloud (AWS)




• You will provide input to tactical and strategic business and technology decisions.




• You will be a part of the engineering operations team to support our customer operations, troubleshoot and fix issues on a rotation basis




• Provide technical leadership via innovation and mentoring junior engineers

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience (MS preferred)




• 0-5 years of hands on and relevant experience.




• Experience with designing, building and operating - secure, scalable and highly available web and mobile applications, large-scale distributed systems using service oriented architecture and message queue architecture - in the cloud




• Experience with any of or a mix of the following technologies - Java, go, Rust, Javascript, J2EE, Angular, Ionic, Relational databases, NoSQL data stores




• Experience with relational databases (MySQL preferred), AWS DynamoDB, AWS Kinesis, AWS ElasticSearch, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, AWS Docker eco system including ECS, EKS and fargate




• Understanding of complex distributed system and Eventually consistent databases.




• Well familiarity with Layer 7 ( HTTP 1.1, HTTP/2, etc ) and Layer 4 protocols.




• Experience with the Agile delivery processes




• Experience with production support and troubleshooting




• Good verbal and communication skills, strong analytical problem-solving ability




• Ability to estimate accurately and deliver high quality software on time




• Ability to excel in a collegial team atmosphere and have a strong desire to be part of a small company that is poised to take off
