Scope of Position


Performs a variety of services in administrative support within assigned department. Work assignments may vary according to the skills and experience of the individual and the needs of the organization.



Job Responsibilities



  1. Sets routine priorities and procedures for accomplishing work, subject to applicable deadlines. Performs considerable coordination and follow-through.

  2. Performs a full scope of word-processing and spreadsheet applications, including merge-mail letters, as well as documents containing financial or statistical data or scientific, technical, or legal terminology. Able to create presentations using PowerPoint or other applicable software.

  3. Reads mail, highlights action or important items, and attaches relevant files and/or information for review. May respond to routine correspondence under own signature or draft response for review on more complex correspondence. Follows up on items delegated to others.

  4. Receives calls and responds to routine questions. Regularly gathers routine oral information from (or makes oral request of) other executive, professional, technical, administrative, maintenance, or clerical employees and/or outside vendors, clients, or the public.

  5. Schedules tentative appointments for approval, and may schedule team meetings per direction of direct supervisor.

  6. Coordinates with internal and external staff to accomplish moderately complex activities, such as scheduling, developing agendas or programs for team meetings.

  7. Collects and compiles data from several sources of information. Often responsible for gathering detailed information or performing considerable research.

  8. May have access and be responsible for confidential records or reports.

  9. Maintains office supplies and files.

  10. Assists with other duties as assigned within designated department.



Education/Experience


High school diploma required; some college or applicable business certification preferred. A minimum of three years of office/clerical experience.



Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications Etc.



  1. Good organizational skills; attention to detail.

  3. Good in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  4. Communicate effectively verbally and in print.

  5. Provide, as well as carry out, detailed verbal and written instructions independently.

  7. Use logical or rational thinking to solve problems; make decisions based on personal judgment.

  8. Perform mathematical calculations (fractions, decimals, percentages, statistical) as needed.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements


While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
