Associate Developer - Software Engineering Intern
UST HealthProof offers a paid internship program that lasts for 3 months in the summer. The program allows students to learn about working in a product development and implementation company and the different departments that collaborate to make our customers successful. Interns selected will work within their specific job function and have presentations weekly that offer exposure to all departments at UST HealthProof: Product Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Finance, Sales, IT Operation, Business Operations, and Customer Support. Our goal is to have our interns leave with practical and applicable experience to build out their professional portfolio, meet some great connections and have some fun along the way!
As an Associate Developer - Software Engineering Intern at UST HealthProof, this is your opportunity to:
*Work on Proof of Concept on several complex projects and use several cutting-edge tools and technologies.
*Interpret the applications features and component design, developing the same in accordance with user stories/ specifications per directions provided
*Code debug test, document, and communicate product/component/feature development stages.
*Identify and report opportunities to improve efficiency and quality (e.g., repeatable processes that can be automated)
*Learn coding standards and practice them in development.
*Adhere to project timelines and communicate effectively over e-mails and conversations
*Practice FAST goals; seek and accept feedback
*Learn technology and Healthcare payer business domain
You bring:
*An understanding of the fundamentals of Software Engineering
*Some past experience with relevant tools and technologies (like Java, SQL) is helpful although not mandatory
*Strong oral and written communication skills.
*Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
*Analytical or critical thinking skills.
*Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
*Good planning and multi-tasking skills.
*Collaborative mindset, Strong listening skills and the ability to follow directions and ask questions to ensure a productive internship.
