SUMMARY

The primary function of this position is to help build, develop, and assess pre- and post-sale technical capabilities of ANSYS channel partners in the Americas so they can effectively promote, sell and support the ANSYS portfolio and drive sustainable double-digit sales growth. These objectives are accomplished by persuading partner principals and technical managers to invest in technical pre and post sales capacity and capabilities to support flagship products - Mechanical, CFD, Electronics (Low and High Frequency products) and Systems. This position will also support partners to learn and adopt new organic / acquired products introduced by Ansys to the market by assisting them with presales technical activities, while transferring knowledge, so that partner technical teams become self-sufficient quickly.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Responsible for persuading partner principals to invest in pre- and post-sale technical capacity to support sales and customer acquisition growth goals. Review and approve partner annual business plans for technical capacity and capabilities.

  • Assess partners' technical skills, experience, and be accountable for building high level enablement plans to ensure right level of technical capabilities. Execution is done in collaboration with ANSYS Channel Enablement team.

  • Assess partners in pre /post sale engagements with customers and prospects, giving feedback about ways to develop their skills, practices, and methods.

  • Engage and align with Partner principals on building (pre/post) tech capabilities to sell /support full portfolio and deliver successful customer implementations / deployments.

  • Support partner presales application engineers during new product introductions. Example - Support Cloud trials during early phase of ANSYS Cloud product, and transfer product knowledge to partner technical staff.

  • Guide and support partners with recruitment processes and activities for key technical positions.

  • Assist partner principals with customer retention strategies and provide best practices and metrics around rigorous execution.

  • Responsible for partners technical readiness status reports to be presented to ANSYS Executives during quarterly reviews.

  • Drive partners participation in boot camps for advanced skills.

  • Provide technical account management expertise for larger accounts and industry specific applications or opportunities.

  • Deliver technology keynote presentations at partner UGMs and bigger demand gen events.

  • Assess and advise partners on customer retention processes.

  • Identify partner / region specific product requirements and feed into field / factory interlock process.

  • Participate and present at Channel Partner Advisory council and help share product road maps so partners can get ready to build needed technical capabilities, including those for new products.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's degree

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience, including post-BS academic experience, in an engineering simulation environment.

  • Knowledgeable in the application or use of ANSYS products, their capabilities, and benefits. Good understanding of competitive products is preferable.

  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering practices and product development, technology and how these tools are used by our customers.

  • A minimum of 3 years manager-level experience in application engineering, customer support, customer consulting services, or related customer facing activities.

  • Experience in hiring and developing staff as well as dealing with underperforming employees.

  • Strong verbal & written communication, organizational, and leadership skills

  • Travel 30%+ required.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline.

  • Understanding of digital transformation business drivers, cloud computing, IOT, Electrification, Digital Twin, Additive Manufacturing trends and their impact on customer opportunities.

  • Extensive experience in leading / influencing virtual teams across functions and geographies.

  • Strong channel partner relationship management and solution development skills.
