Utility Truck Driver

 

Job Description Summary

• Employee essential in the mobilization of materials between facilities, job sites, and customers for our Saltwell location.


• May operate the following trucks (Ready Mix, Tractor/Flatbed Trailer, Block Truck, Dump Truck)

 

Requirements

• Hauling and dumping ready mix.


• Ability to operate equipment to Load and unload equipment or products.


• Fill in as Laborer at Saltwell Plant when not driving.


• Must partner with Operation Managers to ensure daily schedules are met.


• Attendance required according to company attendance policy to ensure crew is able to operate at normal efficiency level.


• Assure product quality to the best of the Driver's ability before leaving plants and in route to jobsites.


• Operate phone/tablet system to communicate to dispatchers of delivery status.


• Notify the Dispatcher of job site information and conditions.

• Maintain a clean truck to insure safety and operational excellence.


• Load, unload, and secure as needed.


• Maintain radio contact with dispatch for scheduling changes.


• Prepare, receive, and provide appropriate documentation.


• Knowledge of DOT and CDL regulations.


• Ability to work independently with attention to detail.


• Ability to follow direction and work effectively in a team environment.


• Ability to respond to stressful situations and customers in a professional, courteous manner.

• Physical ability to operate equipment and to transport material under temperature extremes and for extended hours of time. Normal shift is 8-12 hours.


• Attitude/Cooperation: Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and public.


• Craftsmanship and ability to follow OSHA/MSHA safety standards.


• Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Overtime work required.


• Ability to transport material with attention to detail and emphasis on safety.


• Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completion.


• Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in functional condition.


• Must be able to check truck for maintenance needed and report deficiencies promptly.


• Maintain daily vehicle inspections and reports.


• Must pass drug test and criminal background check.

 

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required


• Must possess Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A for Tractor/Flatbed or B for other trucks
