Job Summary

As a member of the Product Engineering team, the primary responsibility for the role of Product Development Engineer III is to design and develop new products and work on continuous improvement of the existing Pumps, or other fluid displacement equipment with precision for food and beverage industry or Sanitary Hygienic applications.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

1. Design and develop new products utilizing advanced modeling tools and engineering principles.


2. Utilize CAD (Computer Aided Design), CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings with higher standards.


3. Document/ analyze design feasibility studies, tolerances, FEA (finite elemental analysis), CFD (computational fluid dynamics) reports to ensure product meets requirements.


4. Apply engineering analysis to make data-driven design decisions. Develop and review design prototypes, perform tests, and finalize product design to facilitate production


5. Analyze new materials, technologies and processes to evaluate functionality for all new product development or improvement of existing products


6. Comply with Design Control and Stage-Gate processes while designing prototypes and products


7. Approve prototypes of new designs, conduct performance analysis of prototypes, and ensure assembly of products follow the company's quality parameter


8. Verify product to comply with the guidelines by hygiene and sanitation regulator bodies (i.e. EHEDG, 3A)


9. Prepare and approve product design and test plans, review designs, and recommend adequate changes to the approved models before the actual rollout of new product


10. Perform other product development related duties as requested, directed or assigned


11. Research competitor's performance bench-markings and study current advancements in the industry


12. Conduct research and analysis to evaluate new products or improve product performance of existing products


13. Prepare test documentation to support product verification and validation


14. Review existing drawings and make necessary changes to support manufacturing via ECR (Engineering Change Requests)


15. Provide technical support to existing and new products


16. Coordinate with the other members of the engineering team both on site and globally to expedite the design process and establish priorities


17. Collaborate with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability


18. Interface with Product Managers, Applications Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Purchasing, and other functions during all phases of product development


19. Prepare comprehensive project plans with technical objectives and detailed cost estimates


20. Analyze product cost and prepare schedule plans for effective implementation of programs


21. Track progress of assigned projects to report to major stakeholders


22. Document records for all project proposal and associated activities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience with CAD - Inventor or Solid works, PDM - Vault


• NPD, New Product Development experience.


• Experience working in a precision machining environment.


• Experience designing pumps - Positive displacement and Centrifugal pumps.


• Knowledge of fluid handling equipment or process.


• Experience working in the food and beverage industry or Sanitary hygienic applications.


• Minimum Five to Ten years New Product Design and Validation Experience.
