POSITION PURPOSE:
The QC Auditor is responsible for providing expertise and direct support of the division inbound and on-hand inspection process. The QC Auditor will also provide support in the setting of produce rework and return restocking standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct support of the division inbound inspection process.
Escalate all identified inbound produce issues to the QA Manager or QC Supervisor for review and determination of further action. Create COC’s and send to APD as directed.
Provide direct support to the daily on-hand inspection process.
Document any issues identified in the inspection process and escalate to QA Manager or QC supervisor to determine proper course of action.
Provide direct support to the rework process, including participating in the setting of rework standards, to assure the highest quality products are shipped.
Provide direct support in the processing of all product returns, including participating in the setting of the standards for restocking product.
Perform all duties in accordance with HACCP food safety & Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.
Observe all Company safety policies and procedures.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.
COMPETENCIES
Ability to successfully complete all QC Core Training requirements for this position.
Able to learn fruit ripening and handling techniques
Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook, system upgrades and other technology as necessary.
Ability to safely operate a forklift, pallet jack and other similar warehouse equipment and obtain required certifications.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent required; some relevant college course work desired.
Successful completion of all QC Auditor training prerequisites within required timeframe.
Minimum 2 years produce experience in an inspection or quality control environment.
Knowledge of inventory control processes and of proper manufacturing & distribution warehouse organization.
Knowledge of PACA standards for fresh produce good delivery, proper in-house inspection techniques and Country of Origin labeling requirements.
Knowledge of receiving, shipping, inventory and material handling procedures.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills useful.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must Be able to lift, Push and Pull 60 pounds Continuously.
