If you are Supply Chain professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Shakopee, MN location, you will develop and implement sourcing strategies for indirect materials, equipment, supplies and/or services from suppliers.
 
AS A COMMODITY MANAGER, YOU WILL: 


  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan, develop strategy and action a wide variety of indirect materials/services.

  • Work across highly-matrixed organization to influence internal stakeholders, sites, and suppliers.  

  • Responsible for indirect global supplier quality, delivery, lead time and cost performance goals on multiple, complex/strategic commodities

  • Plans and executes annual eSource, cost reduction, cost avoidance, and DPO targets by site.

  • Builds and maintains relationships with new, established, potential suppliers, and all internal functional groups:  Facilities, IT, HR, Engineering, Marketing, etc.

  • Negotiates the best total cost solution for the organization.

  • Identifies, researches, and implements new materials, services, or manufacturing technologies to support business initiatives.

  • Conducts commodity specific competitor and industry analysis to identify cost, material se-lection, manufacturing techniques and materials sourcing to improve the company’s competitive position

  • Implements global leveraging and contracting opportunities

  • Supports and coordinates resources in the acquisition of materials/services for new and existing product programs

  • Identifies, evaluates, selects and manages global supplier base with particular emphasis on business strategies

  • May have direct supervision of Exempt and/or Non-Exempt personnel, including other commodity managers

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering supply chain or related field

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience is required 
 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • Previous indirect materials experience preferred


  • Supervision experience is preferred
