Position Description

OBJECTIVE:

To analyze, report on and develop reports and recommendations from financial data of Goodwill of Colorado and affiliates (Goodwill) that lead to continuous improvements and expansion efforts towards the most effective use of funds, materials, equipment, and people.  This position will utilize current and previous financial data in relation to business and economic trends to support management’s decisions regarding useful business solutions and courses of action for continuous performance improvement.  Will be in communication with most other departments within Goodwill as well as outside agencies.

It will be the responsibility of the Financial Analyst to perform financial duties pertinent to the financial management, reporting, and analysis of Goodwill of Colorado and affiliates to include reports and projections based on financial data. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Educational requirement:  A Bachelor's degree in relevant field such as mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or accounting and five + years of experience in related field.  May substitute known performance for formal education.  Master’s degree and/or CFA certification a plus.

Technical skills required:  Computer proficiency is required.  Financial analytical skills, word processing, Excel spreadsheet, and computerized accounting system experience are essential to this position. Computer systems used by Goodwill are SAP Business One, Counterpoint, iVend, Ultipro HRIS, Novatime, Bi360 Data Warehouse and Report Designer, Tableau, RaisersEdge, and others.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

•  Works with financial and accounting management to design and provide engaging committee presentations that enable Goodwill to better steward financial resources to include monthly financial reporting for board and F&A committee presentations.

•  Works with operations and administrative management to prepare financial projections, or proformas, for major projects, providing recommendations for the highest value projects.

•  Assists with organizational data integration activities to provide consistent and centralized data and financial reporting.

•  Works closely in partnership with Budget Analyst to identify and share trends that lead to the preparation of the most accurate budgets and financial forecasts.

•  Creates and/or recommends innovative solutions, based on financial analysis, which are aligned with company objectives.  After implementation of solutions, compares actuals to projections.

•  Partners with Retail management to analyze financial information and make recommendations to optimize retail channels and maximize financial performance.

•  Investigates financial variances and provides recommendations to optimize organizational financial performance.

•  Works with teams to identify problems, analyze information, and develop process solutions.

•  Analyze treasury activity to make recommendations regarding short term investments.

•  Ability to work independently with little direction on simple to complex analyses and unilateral creation of custom or template models

•  Ability to create cogent comprehensive and concise presentations for senior management or board level  material

•  Completeness, accuracy, and punctuality of reports and other assignments.

•  Must demonstrate success attributed to implemented process solutions.

•  Responsibility shown in ensuring all proprietary, financial, personal, and HIPAA information is kept confidential.

•  Ability to meet deadlines and respond to special requests

•  Initiative and quality of work.

•  The manner in which this individual conducts him/herself should reflect the high standards of integrity and morals, which are expected of all Goodwill personnel.

Salary Range: $72,000 - $79,000 annually
