Job Summary


POSITION SUMMARY

CMG is in search of an Investigative Reporter for station newscasts. The successful candidate will excel at juggling multiple projects and working on long-term investigations. These seasoned journalists love developing ideas for executable, timely and important investigations. They should also be eager to develop key sources in order to break stories. Our ideal candidate will be a versatile storyteller: able to delve into numbers and data, tell emotional character-driven stories and deliver active, experiential and creative live shots.
Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience as an Investigative Reporter.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Report and deliver emotional, in-depth stories
  • Strong ability to analyze data, produce stories from that data
  • Comfortable with requesting public data
  • Strong graphic design skills to be used on air as well as across social media
  • Ability to write and produce stories for digital and social media platforms
  • Work collaboratively with entire News Room Team
  • Make public appearances, representing the station in community events
  • Other duties may be assigned





What we look for


QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 2 years professional experience as an Investigative Reporter is required
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in Journalism or Communications preferred
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Must be thoroughly professional in all aspects of journalism
  • Must include a demo reel indicative of your everyday work
