Job Summary

• Ideate, write/assign, and publish 4-6 news-driven articles per day focused on a range of subjects from fitness trends, celebrity news, nutrition findings, and other general wellness topics


• Apply refined SEO skills to ensure that each article reaches the largest audience possible


• Work closely with staff writer to ensure that breaking stories are covered in a timely manner


• Liaise with SEO manager to forecast and execute SEO-oriented edit programs to deliver content when search begins to lift

Essential Job Functions

Assign and edit news items provided by staff writer and external contributors/freelancers

Write daily news items

Work with social team to develop news ideas and conversely how news items can be translated to social

Work with SEO manager on spiking news topics, ensure all headlines are optimized for search

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education:

BA in journalism, English, communication, or similar field highly recommended

Experience:

3-5 years writing for a digital platform on news/wellness

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

SEO, top-editing, Google Analytics, Chartbeat
