This is a remote-based position located in the Central United States, with preference to those in the Northern half of the United States.
We are seeking a proven pre-sales Solutions Engineering leader to oversee a high performing pre-sales Solutions Engineering team to year-over-year record sales growth and customer success. This role will be responsible to develop, coach, mentor, guide a high performing team supporting sales pursuit in both new and existing customers, ensure interlock with field sales territory strategy, and engage directly in strategic must win opportunities. Additionally, this roll will contribute to the Solutions organization's vision, organizational operations continuous improvement, and practice development with relentless tenacity to execute the vision.
This role is also integral in advancing our portfolio of products and services collaborating with Product Line Management and Product Marketing teams to aggregate critical field input to influence next generation of hardware products, services offerings, and analytics-based cloud software solutions.
Responsibilities:
Manage the continuous development and optimization of a high performing pre-sales Sales Engineering team
Develop and drive territory, business and account planning in tandem with the field sales leaders
Collaborate with sales resources to bring subject matter expertise, strategy and support for customer engagements
Provide leadership, mentoring, and career development coaching to a team of Solutions Engineers
Aggregate feedback from customers into Calix product development and field marketing teams to improve our portfolio and value messaging
Quickly develop the confidence to present on Calix and industry topics at both public events and customer briefings
Leverage technical sales leadership experience to coach, develop and motivate the team as they grow as sales support professionals
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years' proven leadership experience in technical, and services solution selling with strong knowledge in Wi-Fi technology, latest standards, and managed operational services solutions
Strong knowledge in customer support operations and familiar with customer support systems
Familiar with customer support operational tools and systems integration concepts
Familiarity with data analytics and telemetry
Preferred exposure to Cloud based customer support and operational SaaS based solutions
Strong interpersonal, written and public speaking skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple audiences and levels within both internal and external organizations
Demonstrated leadership experience working with teams across all aspects of the sales pursuit
Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred, related discipline, or equivalent experience
Track record of leading teams who consistently meet or over-achieve assigned objectives (top 10-20% of company)
