As a Deputy Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Key direct report and advisor to the Senior Program Manager, Public Market on all matters concerning operational effectiveness, continued viability, and future growth of current and forecasted federal program management activities. Includes advice on and preparation of tactical and strategic business opportunity plans.


  • Provide key support to the Senior Program Manager and other project managers in the performance of project management activities for efficient execution and submission of government prescribed services, products, and deliverables. Includes assistance with schedule development, cost planning, staffing plans, risk and quality management, release management, progress reports, stakeholder relationship and communication plans. Includes legacy and emerging program activities.


  • Lead, assist, and/or represent 3M in program management related discussions with Prime contractors, other vendors and federal government staff on existing opportunities in DoD and VA. Notable examples include current union of Cerner and 3M in multi-year global advancement of new EHR and 3M medical coding products throughout the Department of Defense (DoD) and Veterans Affairs (VA) enterprise health care systems.


  • Provide product and service level advice, analysis, and recommendations for new initiatives to support organic growth from existing projects within current government (e.g., DoD, VA, CMS, IHS) customers.


  • Support actions to ensure proper and reliable internal support processes are implemented to promote effectiveness and efficiency in all Public Market project management and technical operations


  • Support Public Market Contracts Manager in the execution of new contract negotiations, including preparation of contracts and subcontract/vendor agreements.


Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of fourteen (14) years of Program Management experience in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree education requirement


  • Seven (7) years health care project management experience involving healthcare software development, integration, and/or implementation.


Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Master’s Degree in computer science, business discipline, management, or healthcare administration


  • Experience providing executive level briefings and presentations 


  • Experience with managing schedules using Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software


  • Experience with managing budgets                                                    


Location: Remote

Travel: May include up to 10% (domestic/international)

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
