Market Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Directs multi-site fulfillment/warehouse operations of e-commerce and business to consumer clients through a team of site supervisors, shift supervisors and lead employees to ensure efficient use of resources with manpower, materials and equipment.  The General Manager will be responsible for a single geography  with 2-6 sites, with direct reports from each facility.  The primary focus of this role is to build relationships with clients, prospects, and employees to achieve our Company Mission.
 

The GM will provide direction, development and leadership to all facility employees either directly or indirectly through supervisors and lead personnel.  They will define and recommend objectives in Operations, develop short-term and long-term plans and goals, support and collaborate on budget and finances and more.  They will oversee all daily operations of the distribution center from order production to administration and customer service. In this role, they will also ensure policies and procedures are followed. The GM will essentially treat their geography as their business and make decisions with strong confidence and foresight, reporting directly to the Director of Operations and the EVP of Operations.
 

You will be expected to perform these duties.:

• Responsible for the financial management of the assigned sites including setting site level goals to reach planned financial performance. 


• Reviews costs and service quality and modifies order production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the warehouse.


• Have an oversight of clients and client billing protocols. 


• Review all PO's and general ledger updates to make sure planed expenses are appropriate and charged to the right accounts.


• Interact with the Accounting team on detailed reviews. 


• Build Client Relationships by being available and engaging them on a regular basis.


• The General Manager must be skilled in root cause analysis and identify opportunities for improvement in the warehouse and in the office management.


• Implement and document an appropriate performance evaluation for recommending promotions, wage increases, and terminations.


• Develop solutions and a culture of continuous improvement to help each site achieve goals. 


• Work with our Business Development team to answer questions, provide tours, and be an engaging part of the client implementation process. 


• Engage with all employees to help develop relationships.


• Determine responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives and maintain vendor relationships.


• Additional duties as assigned. 

Do you possess the needed Education and/or Experience:

• Progressive Multi-Site Sr. Level Distribution and Warehouse Operations Leadership and Management (7+ years)


• 10-15 years of Sector Experience required:  (Fulfillment, Consumer Goods, etc.) 


• Experience developing and executing strategies/annual plans (budget, operational performance, SOP's, client plans, etc.) 


• Long term experience managing KPI reporting


• Ability to lead with a continuous improvement mentality and processes (Six Sigma, ISO, Lean)


• Demonstrated ability to improve processes with customers in a 3PL environment


• Proven results with C-level clientele


• Experience managing and developing multi-site budgets and P&L's as well as setting attainable goals


• Advanced Degree Preferred - MBA or relevant Master's OR related experience
