Software Engineering Senior Manager - Express Scripts at Cigna in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey

Job Description:

This role may be situated from your virtual home office, with travel as needed into the Franklin Lakes, NJ office location, or additional Northern NJ area office locations, as offices reopen. Flexible work arrangements may be available.

Responsibilities:

• Mentor and coach engineering staff with their own professional development and define and enforce engineering best practices
  
  


• Help to manage and plan work coming into the teams as well as work related to the teams
  
  


• Coordinate with UI designers, our quality services organization, product owners and other stakeholders to help define the optimal product
  
  


• Drive the removal of impediments that come to the teams
  
  


• Act as a strong advocate for the engineering teams

What You've Accomplished:

• Minimum of 6+ years in the software industry
  
  


• Minimum of 3+ years as a people manager, scrum master, project manager or similar role
  
  


• Experience with Java, Pega, Unix, SQL is strongly preferred
  
  


• Must be very comfortable with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  
  


• Experience with mentoring others and helping others progress through their careers
  
  


• Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders
  
  


• Experience with managing conflict
  
  


• Experience with promoting the work of others and with recognizing others contributions
  
  


• Previous experience in a software engineering role - with experience with both front-end and back-end technologies
  
  


• Data visualization experience is nice to have!
  
  

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
