If you are an engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Mansfield, MA location, you will part of the team that produces pressure relief valves for nuclear power plants as well as valves for US Navy submarines and aircraft carriers. Safety and quality are paramount and as the mechanical engineer you will work on a variety of tasks from design/drawing changes to product enhancements, and design modeling. Common work requirements will be for 3D modeling optimization as well as conversions of designs from 2D to full 3D detailed models.

AS THE MECHANICAL ENGINEER, YOU WILL:


  • Review customer specifications and develop comprehensive design proposals for a variety of valve applications
  • Produce CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings from concept sketches and legacy drawings
  • Provide technical support to internal company departments such as quality, manufacturing, sales, and purchasing
  • Troubleshoot and support shop floor activities varying from material defects to valve assembly and testing
  • Prepare procedures (assembly, testing, qualification, etc.) and perform stress analysis for products and materials.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical area
  • Solidworks certification or two years SolidWorks experience
  • Must be US citizen due to contractual requirements with US Navy

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • 5 years’ experience as a mechanical or product engineer in a manufacturing environment, preferably with an engineered to order product
  • 2 years’ experience using Solidworks in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with ASME sections I, III, or VIII
  • Technical knowledge of valves and valve products
  • Professional Engineering License (PE)
