Overview

VHB's growing Augusta, ME office is looking for a senior Traffic Project Engineer to join our Transportation group. The selected candidate will work with a team of transportation planners and engineers on a variety of public, private and institutional projects within broad cross-section of markets, including municipal, state agencies, higher education, federal lands and aviation.

About the Position

Senior Traffic Engineer | Augusta, ME

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager or Task Manager on design/planning of transportation engineering and planning projects


• Perform field work services, such as inventory and implementation, for signal and/or other transportation technology assignments


• Work with a team of professionals in a variety of transportation-related areas to develop mobility solutions which consider all users integrating Complete Street concepts within urban and suburban communities


• Prepare and lead traffic impact and safety studies


• Develop, analyze, and evaluate traffic improvements


• Conduct research and preparation of reports, and presenting findings and results to transportation agencies and clients

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills


• Team oriented with strong capability to work independently


• Motivated to lead and mentor others


• Ability to think critically and strategically

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field


• 7+ years of professional transportation engineering and/or planning experience


• Licensed Professional Engineer required


• Synchro and HCS experience required
