Position Summary
In this fast paced, highly interactive role you will contribute to the achievement of Kimberly-Clark North America (KCNA) net sales, profit and share objectives by providing the Customer Development Finance (CDF), Customer Development (CD), and KCNA Finance teams with timely financial analysis and information to facilitate sound business decisions. The Trade Strategy Senior Finance Manager role provides you with the opportunity to influence trade strategy across all KCNA customer accounts, enhance essential control and compliance procedures, and support important prioritization effort across critical P&L elements such as trade, SG&A, and marketing. This role specifically provides planning and analytical support at the national level and has excellent exposure opportunities with senior Business Unit (BU) and CD leaders.

Organization: People Responsibilities/reporting line/partnerships:

Incumbent reports directly to the Finance Director, Customer Development.  The incumbent serves as a key financial advisor for all KCNA brands and customer accounts as it relates to Trade Promotion, Management Reporting, Control and Compliance.  Incumbent will also work with Customer Development Finance team, Sales and Demand Planning, Business Unit Finance Directors, Canadian Finance Associate Director, and the KCNA Controller’s Office on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide analysis of sales and trade promotion across multiple geographies (US and Canada) dimensions, including customers, brands, spend types, etc. Manage and coordinate the CD trade promotion forecasting process, including collaborating with the Field Finance Managers, Field Finance Team Leaders, and Sales Strategy Finance Managers across the US and Canada to identify issues or opportunities, assess alternative courses of action, and ultimately identify and recommend the appropriate solution. Lead the CD Finance strategic and annual planning efforts to provide sound recommendations that will improve the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of KC investments. Serve as the primary contact for questions related to trade promotion analyses, actual expenses, and forecasts.  Serve as the primary contact for designing, developing and/or enhancing robust dashboards to effectively lead the organization through its commercial transformation strategic priority. Serve as the Finance “Center-of-Excellence” for trade promotion systems, processes, and accounting, including training to the Field Finance Managers across the US and Canada. Provide input and insights on how to leverage various planning systems across the organization. Ensure application of efficient and effective financial and operating controls within the Corporation. Promote sound internal controls and support the Corporation's requirement for strong central financial control by reporting, to the Finance Director, Customer Development, whenever Corporate Financial Policies or Instructions are not being followed or appear inappropriate, inadequate, or out-of-date. Serve as the focal point for the annual external audit of the KC North American trade program. Manage agenda of the KCNA trade program P+ Council and maintain all required documentation. Conduct analyses as directed by the Finance Director, Customer Development and be an active participant on task forces for trade promotion management, capability improvements, benchmarking, etc. as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:


  • BS Finance or related field, MBA Preferred.

  • 10+ years proven and progressive experience in corporate finance or trade/customer management.

  • A proven track record of high performance.

  • The incumbent must have a high degree of financial competence.

  • Knowledge of financial and business implications of general business practices is essential.

  • Previous P&L responsibility and financial planning and analysis.

  • Knowledge of SAP, Promax, Analytx, and other Customer Development tools is preferred.

  • Strong business judgment, problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

  • Exceptional ability to influence without authority.

  • Passion to be an integral partner to the business.
