The Quality Control Analyst assists quality control department in managing risk as it relates to mortgage lending.

Principal Duties


  • Assists quality control department in managing risk as it relates to mortgage lending

  • Reviews/re-underwrites loans and documentation both pre-closing and post-closing to determine compliance with applicable regulations and investor guidelines, determine whether sound practices were followed and identify necessary corrective actions warranted based on audit results

  • Assists in the review, research, confirmation, root-cause analysis and reporting of review results conducted both internally and externally

  • Performs administrative functions including identifying and downloading sample files, capturing and tracking results, following up on and documenting audit responses

  • Helps facilitate ongoing risk assessments throughout the business to ensure compliance with Consumer Finance Protection Bureau guidance

  • Conducts departmental process reviews to determine control adequacy and gaps, identify recommendations for feasible improvement, help develop and follow up on associated action plans

  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor


Education and Experience Requirements

  • A BS/BA degree is preferred

  • Three (3+) years quality control, mortgage underwriting or similar experience required

  • Strong understanding of mortgage documentation and compliance requirements i.e. allowable fees, GFE to HUD1 comparisons, exception tolerances

  • In depth knowledge of consumer finance laws and regulations

  • Mortgage Post-Closing Audit experience a plus


Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Team oriented with ability to interact with all levels inside and outside of the organization

  • Able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment


Proficient with Microsoft - Access, Excel, Word & Outlook
