Line Lead - 3rd shift - Aftermarket Finalthyssenkrupp Bilstein of America, Inc. is a world class manufacturer of suspension solutions headquartered in Hamilton, Ohio USA. thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America supplies products to a wide range of Original Equipment Automotive Manufacturers as well as Aftermarket and Motorsports.Position Summary:The Line lead is responsible for assisting the Department Team Lead and Supervisor with coordination of work assignments, training new employees and completion of daily reports and paperwork. This position is a leadership role and requires the ability to assist in running a team both safely and effectively while still meeting customer and company needs/standards.Your tasks:•\tMaintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.•\tTrains workers in equipment operation.•\tMonitors the work of assembly workers.•\tPerforms activities of workers monitored.•\tRecommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.•\tDisplays a commitment to excellence with a team oriented attitude.•\tSupports Team Leader in training team members, completing paperwork and ensuring quality work is being produced.•\tAssists and fills in as Team Leader if necessary.•\tAssembles component parts to specifications in a manner, which is consistent with the company's quality and productivity standards.•\tInspects all parts for cosmetic defects. Examples: scratches in paint, scratches in chrome on piston rods, damaged dust covers, etc.•\tInspects all parts for proper assembly. Examples: stake mark on piston rod, snap ring seated in internal groove, engraving in place and legible, etc.•\tTags any non-conforming parts with re-work labels and place in re-work bin.•\tEnsures all parts are assembled per specification.•\tAttends a two-day offsite Front Line Leadership Training, to be held locally at Definity University. As part of the training, must successfully demonstrate in the 90 days immediately following the class the use of all nine •\tcompetencies taught as well as complete and report out the results of a mutually selected project in area of responsibility.•\tCompletes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times.•\tPerforms all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Your Profile:•\tPossesses a stable work history, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and a strong personal desire to work safely and maintain a safe working environment.•\tDemonstrates a strong customer focus along with a great work ethic and willingness to do what needs to be done (without taking shortcuts.) •\tDemonstrated knowledge of basic math, including working with decimals, and strong mechanical aptitude. Possesses a logical method of problem solving and willingness to learn and improve one's skills. Demonstrates a strong commitment to meet and exceed customer requirements at all times. •\tMust be able to work required overtime that can be substantial during peak customer production periods.•\tPossesses good hand-eye coordination and is able to perform detailed work with a strong attention to detail and quality. •\tGains satisfaction from team accomplishments and takes pride in one's contributions. •\tSets high expectations and achieves results. •\tUses time wisely and is accountable to self and the team.•\tAble to lift up to 40 pounds, perform repetitious duties and walk or stand for long periods of time on a daily basis.•\tMinimum: High School Diploma or equivalent; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.•\tHighly organized with ability to work independently as well as part of a team. •\tExhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance. •\tStrong attention to detail with well-developed organizational and communication skills.•\tProven experience developing work processes to improve outcomes for the team/customers.
