Purpose:

~ This position is responsible for achieving the company’s Accessories Sales and Profit objectives by managing and overseeing Accessories sales, assisting as needed with accessory development planning and operationalizing sales and promotions for accessories with regions, dealers, Mobis and 3rd party accessory suppliers.

~Develop, plan and implement strategies, programs and promotions that grow Accessory sales and profit while strengthening dealer engagement, dealer installed accessories, service retention and the owner experience.

~Coordinate cross functionally with all HMA, Affiliates, and non HMA groups to ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and business performance of Accessories.

~ Report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on Accessory Sales, profit, trends in accordance with Accessory programs and New Vehicle/ Model launches.

 

Major Responsibilities:

~ Evaluate and/or propose accessory proposals as needed to optimize profit and customer needs. Investigate opportunities to offer new accessories that focus on vehicle system integration, vehicle performance and connectivity.

~ Identify and source new accessories through existing or new Suppliers. Implement and coordinate process improvements, or issue resolution with Suppliers.

~Coordinate with Product Planning and Model Line Engineering to ensure that technical approval and other QA functions are completed prior to production and launch of accessory.

~ Work closely with Parts Pricing to support Pricing Sheets for DIO and PIO accessories by providing Installation rates, forecasting accessory       sales, and other analytics.

~ Interface with the regions, appropriate departments, and other business units to carry out the Accessory sales plan by assisting the region in the attainment of the Accessory Sales objectives through communication and implementation of Accessories programs and promotions.

~ Manage the Accessories Center and other branded accessory Point of Sale, and accessory Merchandising/ Marketing programs

~ Responsible for the approval and on-time delivery of accessory parts designated by Product Planning.

~ Generate ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly, yearly forecasts on Accessory sales, and Accessory programs and promotions

~ Responsible for tracking progress of all departmental activities to support accessory part operations and development

~ Assist with accessory training, Quick Reference Guides (QRGs),  and other necessary documentation required to support customer satisfaction     and the owner experience.

~ Manage a staff; effectively coach, counsel, and develop staff. Utilize the diverse talents of the staff by efficiently managing staff’s time, materials     and budget while focusing on the goals and vision of the company.

~ Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

 

Authority:

~ Negotiate accessory pricing and DIO application rates with Accessory Suppliers based on competitive pricing data.

~ Manage promotions budget and approvals

~ Assign dealer, district and region objectives for revenue and gross profit

~ Department leadership, employee supervision, program development, problem identification, and finding solutions are all expected in this

  position.

~ Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.

~ Conduct interviews, hire new staff, and provide employee orientation.

~ Coach and provide career development advice to staff.

 

Education:

~ Must be a high school graduate

~ Bachelor’s degree preferred.

~ Master’s degree a plus.

 

Related Experience:

~ Eight years of Automotive Retail and Wholesale experience.

~ Two to three years of Managerial experience desired.

 

Skill/Knowledge:

~ Experience with Tableau, SQL and other reporting and analytical tools preferred

~ Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

~ Thorough automotive technical knowledge required.

~ Strong written and oral communication skills.

~ Strong analytical/problem solving ability.

~ Strong data management/general and statistical analysis/reporting capabilities.

~ Strong organizational skills yet flexible to accomplish objectives that are often subject to change.

~ Able to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.

 

Physical requirments:

~ Normal office duties.

~ Occasional lifting and or vehicle mechanical assembly/disassembly.

~ Work requires vehicle evaluations, travel to meetings, site visits, and inspections. This requires the possession of a valid state driver’s license and good driving record.

~ Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

~ Must be willing to travel up to 25% (sometimes with short notice).
