The HSE Advisor will be responsible for supporting the HSE related activities for the Company's operational crews and facilities. The Advisor provides support and guidance to operations and maintenance employees to ensure HSE risks are managed according to regulatory requirements, Company policies, programs, and procedures, and industry best practices. This position will be required to deploy and facilitate HSE initiatives, training plans and provide training, as appropriate.


Key Relevant Tasks:



  • Coordinate with HSE Director and HSE team to ensure effective use of best practices and consistent approach to HSE responsibilities

  • Promote a risk-based approach to HSE management utilizing Company policies, standards and processes for all operational activities

  • Provide HSE support, coaching and training on HSE/DOT programs

  • Participate in HSE/DOT audits/reviews of oil field service operations and support the development and implementation of corrective actions

  • Support the implementation of HSE/DOT objectives and performance measures

  • Work with Operations to ensure compliance with system for collecting, storing, analyzing, tracking and reporting HSE/DOT performance data (e.g. incident report findings, audit and inspection actions, and related HSE/DOT metrics)


  • Participate and audit job-planning activities, including Permit to work (PTW), Job Safety Assessment (JSA) and hazard recognition[BS1]

  • Complete HSE reports for area of responsibility and support operational meetings and reviews

  • Participate in risk management and HSE activities including risk assessments, audits, HSE Meetings, incident investigations, and onsite work activities

  • Conduct or arrange for industrial hygiene sampling and maintenance of associated equipment

  • Support environmental and DOT compliance initiates and related activities

  • Participate in the facilitation of medical care management, including employee interviews and frequent face to face follow-ups to ensure compliance with 3rd party medical recommendations


Job Requirements:



  • Hands-on proficiency in the comprehension and application of the applicable regulatory resources and requirements associated with HSE, DOT and industrial hygiene

  • Technical proficiency in emergency response support of coworkers as needed, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and other additional tasks as assigned

  • Technical proficiency in understanding and communicating regulations, risk management and risk assessment skills

  • Technical proficiency in HSE auditing, incident investigation and documentation techniques

  • Proficiency with written and email communication including use of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)


Minimum Qualifications:



  • High school diploma, certificate or equivalent is required

  • One year experience in HSE role or related experience (frac or cement operations) and understanding of technicalities related to frac and cement processes

  • Must have valid state-issued driver's license


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Certifications associated with HSE/DOT regulations preferred (OHST, Hazmat response, Incident command, Medical response, etc.)

  • Experience with DOT regulations and commercial motor vehicle operation

  • Valid State issued CDL license.


Working Conditions:


Employee must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others, including coworkers and third parties, including wearing any required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all designated times. This position requires the employee to work outdoors for long periods of time in all types of weather conditions typical of the area where the job is located, including dust, humidity, sleet, snow, rain, mud, cold, heat, wind, and other inclement weather. Working conditions for this position may involve exposure to varying outdoor conditions, including environmental chemicals, gases, noise, dampness, fumes, radiation and heights.
