Position Description:




We are seeking to add a Fund/Financial Accountant to our Global Bank Oversight (GBO)/PIMCO Accounting Yields (PAY) Group. The group provides general ledger oversight and manages a PIMCO proprietary accounting calculation tool to monitor investment activity for various PIMCO account types.
In this role, you will be responsible for adding business value and providing services that advise the firm's most senior members, including the executive office, Portfolio Managers, and key Account Managers, among others. We are seeking a hardworking and determined team member to assist with driving our process evolution and facilitate increased adoption throughout the firm. Position Requirements:




You will have:


  • Knowledge of overriding GAAP accounting principles, US RIC Regulations

  • Some experience with fund accounting operations, which may include analyzing fund performance, NAV calculations, transaction processing, security valuation, and reconciliation.

  • An appreciation for the importance of audit, control and policy setting

  • A critical approach with the ability to creatively solution for sophisticated issues

  • Ability to effectively communicate accounting concepts and bridge economic and accounting considerations

  • Experience in providing outstanding internal customer service for demanding end-users

  • Hands-on experience with tools used to validate analyses, build projection models, and provide meaningful insight into data

  • Proven operator executing tasks and navigating unstructured processes

  • Shown project management leadership, especially in environments with unstructured processes

  • Experience working in an outsourced model with oversight of vendor relationships


Position Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree

  • 5-7 years of investment management, public accounting/financial reporting, or professional services experience

  • CPA desirable

  • An understanding of mutual funds and fund accounting (including accounting systems)

  • Exposure to a broad range of fund structures desirable

  • Detailed knowledge of various asset types; fixed income, equity, derivatives, and other securities

  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and data management skills (Excel usage, Bloomberg, Macro writing, Database queries, etc.)

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Risk and control minded aiding in the ongoing oversight of third-party fund accounting service providers

  • Highly organized; process and quality control minded with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
