The Opportunity:

Mattel is seeking a Marketing Associate, Int'l Strategy to assist in building an audience around its international portfolio of channels. This position is responsible for supporting the Manager, Strategy in communicating and executing YouTube strategy, tactics, and performance updates across local markets. They are also responsible for accelerating growth and success of local market YouTube channels, and incentivizing continued investment for localized and/or locally produced content and media spend. This position will work with the Manager, Strategy on the assigned categories of reporting, communication, and implementation of strategy, tactics, and best practices.

What Your Impact Will Be:

60% - Local Market Development


  • Work to understand local market needs and coordinate with the Manager, Strategy to develop and implement solutions.

  • Fortify relationships and communication pathways with int'l teams across the Mattel digital ecosystem.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for local markets re: YouTube strategy, tactics, and performance updates.

  • Set and co-host recurring meetings with local markets to review performance updates and market trends.

  • Execute process for obtaining local market input on annual strategy development and participation in brand / and platform calendar moments.

  • In partnership with their Manager, communicate YouTube audience and programming strategies for Mattel brands and cross-functional partners to local markets.

  • Work hand in hand with Integrated marketing arms to align content and media metrics.

  • Partner with Social, Content and Marcom teams for asset creation needs.

  • Partner with Content teams for short-form content creation, management, and delivery.

  • Take part in execution of YouTube optimization and best practices.

40% Analytics and Reporting


  • Help build and present compelling data-rich presentations that translate metrics into insights and actionable recommendations.

  • Work with insights team to build automated reports via Google Data Studio, Tableau, or equivalent platform.

  • Track and work with the Manager, Strategy to translate digital performance metrics that drive brand health and financial targets.

  • Coordinate with internal localization experts to ensure localized content and metadata workflows are properly executed upon and expected deliveries arrive on-schedule.

  • Partner with Insights teams to optimize new and existing marketing attribution models.

  • Develop and share channel health and content performance reports with local markets on a recurring basis.

  • Work with the Manager, Strategy to develop new ways of supporting Mattel's global digital teams as the business evolves.


What We're Looking For:


  • BA/BS degree.

  • 2-3 years of experience in digital marketing, brand marketing, audience development and/or digital analytics.

  • Experience in the consumer internet and media industries, specifically YouTube distribution landscape.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills: ability to work closely with multiple cross-functional teams.

  • Effective problem solving and analysis skills.

  • Competency with building, maintaining Google Data Studio and/or Tableau dashboards.

  • Proficiency in Google Analytics, YouTube Analytics (including CID) and Tubular Analytics experience required.

  • Current or previous YouTube certifications in audience development, content strategy, digital rights management, or monetization.

  • Experience with COPPA, CARU and GDPR.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
