Job Description:

Install and maintains hospital telephone systems and communications.

Full-Time Position (80 Hours Per Pay Period)

Shift: Varied hours        Days: Varied

Wages Based Upon Experience

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Advanced telephony skills


• Experience working on traditional and/or VoIP PBX systems


• Excellent data cabling knowledge including punch downs for 66 and 110 blocks


• Excellent project management skills. Possesses the ability and motivation to manage major projects and proactively report to supervisor/director and appropriate stakeholders


• Excellent knowledge of telephones, fax machines, modems, cable testers, computer shop hand tools and ladders


• Ability to proactively manage the security, recovery and/or operation of the IT infrastructure in the event of a system failure or other urgent/emergent situation


• Advanced technical skills


• Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public


• Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision


• Demonstrates advanced technical and documentation skills


• Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location


• Conveys a positive and supportive team oriented attitude


• Specializes and supports at least one major hospital application


• Ability to participate in 24/7 on call schedule


• Assists in meeting the organization’s strategic objectives by  accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to Bay Area Hospital


• Versatility and ability to handle several responsibilities concurrently, recognizing changes in priorities


• Exhibits leadership qualities


• Ability and willingness to learn constantly evolving technology, applying it where applicable


• Working knowledge of HIPAA data and infrastructure standards


• Exhibits unbiased knowledge of security based issues


• Demonstrates ability to read and comprehend security based logs

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

• Associates degree or two years related work experience


• Limited Energy license class A or B or if applying from out of state must have the ability to produce work history that would satisfy the Oregon State Building Codes division and pass the test before 90 day probationary period is completed.


• Valid Oregon driver’s license

EXPERIENCE GENERAL INFORMATION

• One year experience in duties related to Computer Network Specialist II position
