Job Description:

Learns to obtain blood specimens, in a courteous and professional manner, from patients of all age ranges. Learns clerical tasks associated with Laboratory testing, ordering, handling, and compliance.

On-Call Position, No Guarantee of Hours
Shift: 0500-1330 / 1330-2200 Days: Varied
Wages Based Upon Experience
CLOSING DATE: Open Until Filled

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
• Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public in a confident and professional manner
• Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision in all situations
• Must have legible handwriting
• Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• Medical Terminology preferred

EXPERIENCE
• Previous customer service experience preferred

GENERAL INFORMATION
Upon successful completion of at least a minimum of 90 training/working days and required competencies, a trainee will be transferred to a Phlebotomist/Clerical Support position.
