Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Risk Control Associate to join the Agribusiness team. The associate will provide risk control consulting services and technical support to customers, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigation of cause/effect of major losses and hazard/safety management programs. Additionally, will provide information to the Underwriting Department for risk evaluation and assessment.

What you will do:

• Conducts risk assessments and provides consultative services to support the acquisition and retention of profitable commercial insurance business within time and quality standards.


• Identifies and communicates effective risk control management recommendations to include training programs to improve policyholder safety and risk programs.


• Assists policyholders in developing and maintaining effective loss control programs by providing technical information, loss analysis, resources, guidance, and leadership for all lines of insurance. Coordinates and conducts training programs that will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness.


• Maintains files and pertinent documents on all assigned accounts in the territory; creates and follows action plans as needed to acquire and maintain profitable business.


• Informs policyholders, producers, and other affected staff, as necessary of any new regulations pertinent to commercial loss control management.

This position will provide service to customers in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic territory including the states of GA, NC, SC, Maryland and Virginia.  As such, the ideal candidate will reside in the Raleigh, NC area.  Regular travel will be required.  

Experience

• * Bachelor’s degree in Safety or Risk Management; (NOTE: Relevant, progressively responsible work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education).


• * 1 year of relevant experience in risk control, safety management or risk management preferably related to the evaluation of farm owners or commercial Agribusiness exposures.


• * Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.


• * Regular travel required to service the business needs.


• * Excellent communication, consulting, interpersonal and organizational skills.


• * Ability to analyze, define and solve problems; the use of good judgment and decision-making.
