Position Snapshot:
In this position, you will support US Ecology's around the clock environmental services operations such as emergency response, industrial cleaning, soil excavations and liquid (Non-hazardous) disposal, site maintenance/transformers, emergency spill response and site cleanup projects using a variety of techniques and tools in a collaborative environment.
A Day in the Life
Perform assigned tasks with or without direct supervision supporting our customers and their unique project needs
Complete all job-specific paperwork including Timesheets, Daily Work Reports, Driver's Logs and Daily Tailgate Safety Meeting Forms some of which require use of a computer
Respond to oil /petroleum spill on shoreline and uneven terrain under varying weather conditions
Load/unload drums, equipment from and into vans, flatbeds, trailers
Perform spill site cleanups and site restoration varying dimensions, involving standing and lifting for extended periods, preform soft dig excavations.
Draining oil from transformers
Safely drive and perform safety checks on all vehicles for which licensed
Understand and comply with company and client safety standards
Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to apply
Must be willing and able to travel (estimate 10%) and work extended hours including on-call rotation shifts to meet operational demands
Experience working in a labor-intensive position preferably the skilled trades
Valid Driver's License / CDL Class B a plus
Good driving record with less than 3 violations in the last 3 years
Must be a self-starter such as finding work to do between direct assignments, follow through with tasks, and take ownership and pride in work performed.
Comfortable wearing necessary PPE including a respirator as needed
HAZWOPER certification is a plus
Successful satisfactory completion of a pre-employment background screening
