Job Description:

The Fairmont El San Juan Hotel Front Office Supervisor (Rooms Controller) You are a multi-tasker and areresponsible for managing overall hotel roominventory, supervising Front Office colleagues and coordinating the day-to-day operation! As a Supervisor/Rooms Controller, you will ensure guests requests are met in advanceand their preferences are honored by pre-blocking special requests.

What you will be doing:


  • Coordinating all guest room assignments and pre-blocking special requests with a special focus on VIP arrivals, respond to guest requests and settle accounts while providing exceptional service
  • Supervising Front Desk and Royal Service day to day operations including covering breaks and handling guest concerns
  • Take initiative to enhance the guest experience
  • Proudly promote the hotel facilities, looking for opportunities to enhance a guest's stay through up-selling
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge about El San Juan Hotel systems such as OnQ PM.
  • Ability to read, speak, and listen to comprehend the English and Spanish language in order to communicate effectively with guest and employees, understand reports and related correspondence and accurately perform all essential job functions. Portray professional and efficient image to guest, colleagues and visitors.
  • Greet all Guests promptly and with a friendly and upbeat attitude.
  • Follows company standards of hospitality by making eye contact with every guest, smiling and offering a warm and friendly greeting.
  • Be a brand advocate by providing guests with accurate information regarding our venues and weekly activities.

Your experience and skills include:


  • Supervisory Skills in similar position requested
  • Service focused personality is essential; experience is an asset
  • Prior experience working with Opera or a related system
  • Hotel Administration knowledge
  • Hospitality experience preferred
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish; additional languages are a plus
