Cultural Curator at Sarasota Art Ovation Hotel at Shaner Hotel Group Limited Partnership in Sarasota, Florida

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of progressive Curator experience, preferably in the hospitality field. 

·        
Assist Corporate curator in organizing art
exhibitions.

·        
Serve as inhouse contact for artists

·        
Receive loan agreements and addendums and verify
they are properly signed

·        
Communicate with the insurance company to insure
new works.

·        
Assist Corporate Curator with the de-installation
and installation of artwork (Including packing and unpacking works)

·        
Receive new works delivered in person or
shipped by the artists.

·        
Return works to artists and have them sign
releases for the returned works.

·        
Pack and ship work to be returned via UPS or
FedEx.

·        
Oversee sales of works at O Collection.

·        
Give tours of the art exhibitions to guests and
visitors

·        
Assist in the organization of opening events.

·        
Hire entertainment.

·        
On the day of the openings, coordinate that
sound system is in place for presentation,

·        
Welcome guests, particularly exhibiting artists
and VIP guests.

·        
Coordinate the hotel's cultural program
(lectures, concerts, etc.)

·        
Establish relationships with Sarasota's non-
profit cultural institutions and organize events that bring income to the
Hotel.

·        
Serve as liaison with the Ringling College
of Art and Design

·        
Assist F&B with the new rotating art
&cuisine concept

·        
Organize the visiting artists programs for the
Artist's Studio beginning mid-January 2021.
