Job Description:

The Public Cloud Architecture Team provides guidance and patterns supporting business and application transformation inclusive of Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) & Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions offered by cloud providers. The successful candidate will deliver technology solutions that address business needs by developing the Architecture Solution for the various software applications and platforms designed for the cloud. The candidate will have experience architecting and transforming applications and processes for the cloud, preferably for a financial institution, working with geographically diverse teams, have a proven track record of strong communication and people skills as well as have experience working in a structured and agile software development lifecycle. The candidate will also have experience with analytics, reporting, selecting and integrating third-party software product. The candidate must be able to partner effectively across the organization, in particular with, Applications Development, Project Management, Risk & Control, and Business Management partners. Experience working with a sizeable technology organization with complex programs is required, in particular in banking / finance with exposure to corporate functions at an enterprise-wide and global level.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and document architecture patterns and best practices to address data protection and security needs while taking advantage of cloud native technologies and PaaS capabilities
  • Create architectures that provides the blueprint for the development teams based on the business concept, goals & objectives and requirements.
  • Create and document reusable components necessary for efficient and scalable application migration to public cloud
  • Produce documentation and training for architecture patterns and best practices in the form of podcasts, white papers, design artifacts, presentations and other formats
  • Provide technical consultation to application teams migrating to public cloud based on joint assessment of existing application technology and deployment model
  • Create proof-of-concept solutions using native cloud provider technologies and demonstrate capabilities to application teams
  • Ability to work with both technical and business-oriented teams
  • Build new and innovative solutions that can help solve business and technical challenges
  • Develop the rolling multi-year roadmap and maintain aligned to our business client and technology strategy and priorities to build deep & trusted relationships with the Application Development teams, their business partners and our counterparties in other LOBs

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, electronics engineering or other engineering or other STEM discipline.
  • 8-10 years of relevant work experience in software/systems architecture, solution architecture, DevOps engineer, system administrator or similar technical role
  • Deep understanding of AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms with a minimum of two years of demonstrable hands-on experience
  • Demonstrated migration experience moving on premise applications to public cloud environments (AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or GCP)
  • Solid working knowledge of virtualization technologies and concepts
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and good listening skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • At least one advanced Architect or DevOps Engineering certification from either AWS, Google, or Azure
  • Architecture framework certification
  • Working knowledge of Cloud services, and ability to trade off services based upon business requirements.
