About This Role:

The practice helps our clients tell great stories, fueled by data and objective analysis, to elevate their market presence and engage their buyers. Engagements for this practice include custom primary market research/analysis and creation of marketing content for B2B marketers in technology and beyond.

The Market Impact Consultant owns the delivery of these custom engagements with input from Forrester's analysts and subject matter experts. The Consultant leads the delivery team in determining the objective(s) for the collateral assets/program, developing storylines and research approaches, collecting and analyzing data, and turning those insights into compelling content marketing assets for the client's use and widespread distribution.

Responsibilities


  • Be the project leader and methodology guru for data-driven consulting projects sold to senior B2B marketing and product management executives, leading the team to deliver high-quality thought leadership on time and within budget.

  • Develop project plans and meeting agendas, set milestones, coordinate internal and external resources and schedules to ensure project delivery, manage project expenses and revenue, and monitor progress against client and internal commitments.

  • Lead the design and execution of custom quantitative and qualitative research. This includes conducting executive interviews, leading quantitative/survey-based data gathering and analysis, and coaching associate consultants and third-party data vendors to deliver high-quality data results in a timely manner.

  • Create persuasive content marketing assets in multiple formats that engage readers with a compelling storyline and high-impact data visualizations based on the research and input from Forrester subject matter experts. This includes writing long-form thought leadership papers as well as more snackable content.

  • Own client satisfaction and project quality, with a focus on client outcomes and goals.

  • Support business development efforts. Develop and nurture client relationships and partner with/provide ongoing support to Forrester sales teams and consulting colleagues in the sale of engagements by collaborating on the vision, outcomes, and scope of work presale; showcasing the project methodology; sharing previous client success stories; etc.

Qualifications


  • BA/BS/MS degree with a strong academic record.

  • Five to seven years of experience in marketing and/or data storytelling within a technology vendor or publication or a top-tier marketing, consulting, or market research company.

  • Superior communication skills, including presentation, writing, data storytelling, and data visualization skills.

  • Strong client relationship development skills, particularly with marketing professionals in the technology vendor and user space.

  • A strong aptitude for and/or experience in project leadership and management, and the ability to run several studies concurrently; experience in third-party vendor management is a plus.

  • Strong fluency in marketing and conversational fluency in B2B and/or B2C technology topics.

  • Demonstrated capabilities in research, including familiarity with statistical methods, strong Excel skills, and a working knowledge of research/graphical/statistical software/tools (e.g., SPSS, MarketSight, SurveyMonkey).

  • The ability to collaborate across and outside the organization to meet the needs of the client.

  • A high degree of intensity, follow-through, and collegiality.

  • The ability to travel as needed (one to four times annually).
