Restaurant Manager at Havana Central Restaurant & Bar in Garden City, New York

Job Description:

Havana Central Restaurant, an upscale-casual, high-volume restaurant and catering group is looking for an experienced, results-oriented and dynamic Front of the House (FOH) manager ready to lead a successful team of hospitality professionals. What You'll Do:

• Report to the General Manager and maintain responsibility for all front-of-house (FOH) functions.


• Deliver the spirit of hospitality to all guests.


• Supervise all FOH staff and staffing levels to ensure proper restaurant ambiance, housekeeping and set-up, food & beverage quality, safety, and pace.


• Ensure each shift is run in a smooth manner and attends to any unexpected problems or emergencies that may arise.


• Take ownership over an assigned FOH department (i.e., Host, Server, Bar, etc.) and a profit/cost center such as Small-wares or Repair & Maintenance for which he or she will be responsible for the staffing, scheduling, financial goals and staff development.

What We're Looking For:

• At least 2-5 years in a high volume, full service restaurant ($4 million +).


• Knowledge and demonstrable practice of safety and sanitation compliance.


• A proven track record of controlling Cost /Labor.


• Strong leadership and a high level of communication skills.


• Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.


• Someone who is reliable, dependable and continuously motivated.


• The ability to work 10 hour shifts with extensive standing/walking.


• P&L knowledge
