We are currently seeking a Chief Information Officer that would develop and implement our information technology vision and strategy to position ESIS as an industry leader in information delivery and analytics.  This position reports directly to the President of ESIS.  

The scope of the CIO role will be to develop and drive the execution of the ESIS business technology strategy and future state application roadmap in alignment with business goals and drivers that includes internal and external facing applications.  The CIO will be tasked with implementing improvements to existing ESIS processes and systems and ensuring optimal organization design driving role clarity, division of labor and clear accountability. The CIO will pursue emerging technologies that offer potential value to the ESIS business customers and the company in general. He/she will collaborate across the organization to promote best practices, processes, and procedures throughout IT, and work closely with development teams to ensure the proper execution of solution design with a focus on new business direction in the area of Digital and Analytics.


Position Description 


  • Responsible for all strategy and delivery aspects of IT at required service levels and specifications to effectively support business and operational needs.

  • Take ownership in creating a “data analytics culture” within ESIS by advancing the basic core competency across various functions. The objective is to build an organization that is skilled in delivering data analytics work product and communicating the ESIS value proposition.

  • Challenge conventional practices and status quo with the goal of continually improving IT’s abilities to deliver practical business solutions.

  • Facilitate and provide leadership in the development of strategies to identify and design solutions to business challenges.

  • Position the ESIS IT group to exploit the evolution of new technologies by providing high level technical consulting and lending expertise to application development teams and senior management.

  • Promote the most effective and efficient means of delivering IT products and services through reuse, sharing, buying vs. building, etc.

  • Demonstrate the ability to create original concepts and approaches for testing/refining existing processes as well as focusing on new solutions and processes.

  • Maximize ESIS IT’s return on investment in technology.

  • Ensure solutions are designed in the most cost-effective manner and develop and work within ESIS  IT budget.

 


  • Consult with clients and prospects to communicate the value-added capabilities and services of ESIS.

  • Drive standardization of technology and operations across all disciplines including a quality control process that ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and work product that meets customer needs and operational requirements.

  • Prioritization and alignment of IT initiatives across ESIS and in Compliance to Chubb IT and operational standards and practices.

  • Create and implement the sourcing approach (internal to ESIS, Chubb IT, and outside vendors) for utilizing the most effective technology partners to implement the strategy.

  • Responsible for talent recruitment and overall performance management of team.

  • Create and support an environment that fosters a positive work experience, knowledge sharing, collaboration and strong performance across the team.

 

Required Skills


  • Proven IT thought leadership and strategic capability in an agile environment

  • Experience in effectively managing teams at an executive level

  • Strong familiarity with data analysis concepts and tools

  • Understanding of claim system, data warehousing, and business intelligence system environments

  • Proven effective vendor management

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels and functions within the organization

  • Project management skills

  • Strong business, analytical, reporting, and technical skills

  • Effective presentation skills, both orally and in writing

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across functions and teams (including Chubb)

  • Open-minded to new ideas and solutions

  • Willingness to work in an ambiguous and changing environment 

Experience and Education


  • 10+ years’ experience in data mining, analytics or reporting

  • Experience in leading and managing teams

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology / Computer Science or equivalent; Master’s degree in Information Technology, or Analytics preferred.

  • Understanding of insurance and or TPA systems or TPA experience preferred

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint & Word
